HI I am hoping to fly from NJ to CA this year. Just looking for helpful advice and tips. MY plan is to leave from Trenton/ Robbinsville and land in San Diego. I figure that the trip should take about 35 hours. My concern of course are the Rockies and the weather. Did I mention I am doing this in my 95hp Forney Aircoupe. CA here I come.

Mon, May 2, 2005 - 8:26 PMOkay, I started on Sunday 5/1 and man is it taking longer than I thought. On Monday I only made it to Lanchaster Ohio KLHQ. Its Tuesday and I have only gotten to Sullivan County Missouri just west of the Mississippi KUUV. I want to be at Santa Rosa by Thursday and San Diego by Saturday. Which means I head back to NJ that Sunday. Well I tell you flying an Ercoupe to CA is an adventure in a half. Met many nice people and places.

Tue, May 3, 2005 - 6:19 PMOkay made good time today went from UUV to LBL with a couple of stops in between. Stopped at Coffeville where there are some really nice people. Stop at Ponca City for some really good Southwestern Food. Have to stop there on the way back. Forgot to get gas at PNC so landed at Anthony ANY and called for fuel. Anthony Police Sargent drove out to turn on the pumps. Then landed and called it quits for the day at Liberal (LBL).
